Verizon will be holding an event tomorrow, November 13, in New York City where the wireless provider is inviting people to "experience" the company's latest collaboration. One of the devices that had been expected to be unveiled was the HTC Droid DNA, and now it looks like Verizon has confirmed the phone ahead of its official unveiling.
A look at Verizon's DROID DOES website reveals a listing for a 'DROID DNA Unboxing.' Verizon is planning on hosting a DROID DNA unboxing event next week, on November 19, through a hangout over Google+ at 12 p.m. EST.
The HTC Droid DNA is the U.S. version of the Japanese HTC J Butterfly, and while no official specs for the handset has been released, most reports point to the device being similar to the Japanese version, albeit with a Verizon logo stamped on the top.
The HTC Droid DNA will give U.S. Verizon consumers the most impressive display of any handset available through major carriers. With a 5-inch screen that outputs 1080p, the Droid DNA should be pushing out around 440 pixels per inch (ppi). The Droid DNA should also sport a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, LTE capabilities, 2GB RAM, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera.
Website AndroidAuthority has the Droid DNA's price pegged around $199.99 with a standard two-year contract, meaning this should offer a compelling and cheap alternative to the 5.55-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for videophiles.
Verizon announced on Google+ that it would launch the HTC Droid DNA on November 20, one day after the unboxing.
