Good news for "Tomb Raider" fans who use the PlayStation as it has been confirmed that the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will be released on the PS4.
It seems that the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will not be exclusive to the Xbox One after all as the devs confirm that the game would be released for the PS4 a couple of months after the game launches on the Xbox One and PC.
As reported by Brad Jones of Game Rant, the exclusivity deal of Microsoft for the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" was timed. Square Enix confirmed that the game's release date for the PC would be sometime in early 2016, while the Xbox 360 and Xbox One get it on November 10, 2015. The PS4, on the other hand, gets the game in Holiday 2016.
"Square Enix today announced its latest title in the critically acclaimed and award-winning Tomb Raider series, 'Rise of the Tomb Raider,' will be available for Windows 10 and Steam in early 2016. The game will be a console exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360 for one year after its initial launch, coming to PlayStation 4 in Holiday 2016. Renowned developer Crystal Dynamics, a Square Enix studio, is leading development in the latest entry in the iconic series for additional platforms," says Square Enix in press release to Kotaku.
Meanwhile, according to a report by Damian Seeto of Attack of the Fanboy, the graphics of the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" for the Xbox One would be absolutely amazing as it has been confirmed that "Rise of the Tomb Raider" would run at 1080p 30fps for the Xbox One.
As noted by Matt Kamen of Wired, "Rise of the Tomb Raider" is about Lara Croft's adventure after the events of the first game. After a cover-up obscures the horrors she endured on Yamatai Island, Lara Croft sets out to the cold world of Siberia in search of the mythical city of Kitezh as Lara becomes obsessed with proving the existence of the world's darkest secrets as she looks to oppose the Trinity Corporation from trying to keep the secrets of Kitezh from the world.
Meanwhile, a ton of new footage for "Rise of the Tomb Raider" has been unveiled by Microsoft and Square Enix. Here are some of the gameplay videos from the Xbox One version:
