Samsung Galaxy S3 owners here in the United States have been patiently waiting for their Jelly Bean update even though international markets started receiving the upgrade a month ago. There is good news, however, as it seems that carriers Verizon and AT&T might be rolling out Jelly Bean for their respective Galaxy S3s within this month.
A new Jelly Bean ROM has leaked for the Verizon Galaxy S3 that seems to be a pretty solid build. The ROM is posted on XDADevelopers by open1your1eyes0, who also states that this could very close to the final build, if not the actual factory version.
Keep in mind that this is still unofficial firmware, and flashing your Galaxy S3 to this build could cause your phone to brick and become useless. Do not try this unless you are sure of what you are doing, since in many cases this will void your phone's warranty. If you're still up for the challenge, you can head over to XDADevelopers and follow the steps posted.
An earlier build of the Verizon Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update was leaked not too long ago, and the poster stated that there is a good chance the official upgrade will be available near the end of November. Don't get your hopes up too high, however, since Verizon has been known to be painfully slow in upgrading its Android devices.
AT&T Galaxy S3 owners could be getting Jelly Bean as early as next week. Website PopHerald claimed they received an anonymous tip that AT&T will be releasing Android 4.1.2 in the near future.
Sprint is the only carrier so far to have released Jelly Bean, although Sprint's build is the older Android 4.1.1, meaning AT&T's, and hopefully Verizon's, update will have a couple extra features.
You can check the official Samsung US update page to keep track of whether your carrier has released Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3 or not.
