Samsung has recently been one of the most aggressive companies in getting Android Jelly Bean out to its devices. What's even more impressive is that the South Korean has such a robust lineup that it needs to cater too. Now, owners of the Galaxy Note 10.1 can rejoice, since Samsung has released the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the tablet today.
The update is currently only available in Germany, and the 300MB upgrade is available OTA, according to SamMobile.
The timing of the update falls in line with a previous statement issued by Samsung Sweden which stated that the Galaxy Note 10.1 was to receive Android 4.1 in Q4.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet released a couple months ago, and is the first Samsung tablet to feature the same redesigned S Pen as the Galaxy Note 2. Many reviewers found the tablet a delight, and a decent alternative to the almighty iPad.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 features a 10.1-inch WXGA LCD display with a resolution of 1280X800. The tablet sports a 1.4GHz Exynos quad-core processor that has been running Android Ice Cream Sandwich since its launch. The Galaxy Note 10.1 has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera to go along with Adobe Photoshop Touch, which is included.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 is available in 16/32/64GB models, and is Wi-Fi only.
The same Samsung Sweden announcement mentioned above also revealed that the Galaxy S2 should receive Jelly Bean in November, and the original Galaxy Note will get it in Q4. Samsung's flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S3 is currently in the process of being updated to Jelly Bean in the United States and worldwide.
