"Dishonored 2" is one of the most anticipated games yet and Arkane Studios is making sure that fans of the first game would be blown away by what they would see in the next game, and if the reports are to be believed, then gamers are in for a treat.
According to Kyle Sledge of Game Rant, fans were shocked that "Dishonored 2" was shown during the Bethesda panel at E3 2015. They were surprised in a good way though as "Dishonored 2" looks to be a complete improvement over the first.
As was noted on the report, "Dishonored 2" will be a bit more focused on the plot of the story as it aims to follow the motivations and drive behind Emily Kaldwin, the new protagonist of the game.
While Emily Kaldwin is the new protagonist of the game, "Dishonored 2" director Raphael Colantonio explains that she is actually the anchor of the whole "Dishonored" story.
"Emily in the first one was really an anchor to the world. There was not much worth saving other than her. So she became really interesting to us," said Colantonio.
Meanwhile, another one of "Dishonored 2's" directors, Harvey Smith, had this to say about Emily:
"She's special because she's watching you. If you play very violently, she changes in the game. So people were interested in Emily. You have this privileged girl who, instead of living the life she would have lived, got interrupted by this tragic event. But then she was raised by Corvo the rest of the way. So who would she be as an adult?" said Smith.
Meanwhile, Smith also gave a couple of new gameplay details about "Dishonored 2" when he confirmed that players could play as Emily or Corvo in the game.
According to Steven Hansen of Destructiod, Smith has admitted "Dishonored 2" plans to be replayable by having two characters to use all throughout the game though Smith warned that players cannot switch back to another character once they've made their choice. This means that players would have to replay the game to play as another character.
It should be noted though that the report mentions that the missions would be same regardless of the character you picked.
What is the difference between Corvo and Emily?
"Emily fights with a little more finesse than Corvo does. Whereas Corvo has the very classic Possession, Rat Swarm, Blink [abilities], Emily has Far Reach, Shadow Walk, Mesmerize... these powers that nobody has heard of," said Smith.
"Dishonored 2" is set to be released in 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
