Latest Presidential Elections Polls: Rasmussen Reports Has Romney Ahead But Obama Likely to be Reelected Tonight

The final Rasmussen Reports poll has some good news for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney as polls close nationwide tonight.

According to the latest poll from the Scott Rasmussen-led organization, Romney leads President Barack Obama by one percentage point among 1,500 likely voters surveyed.

The poll, conducted from Nov. 3 to Nov. 5, has Romney at 49 percent to Obama's 48 percent.

The polling data noted that both candidates are tied when it comes to the favorability rating with 50 percent, but when it comes to issues such as the economy, then Romney is trusted more.

In regards to the economy, Romney received a 50 percent trust rating to Obama's 47 percent.

Enthusiasm for the race is also high with 77 percent reporting to be "excited" about voting for either Obama or Romney.

Despite the lead in polling figures for Romney, 52 percent believe Obama will be reelected compared to the 38 percent that believes Romney will become the 45^th president of the United States.

When it comes to the Electoral College map, Rasmussen current projects Obama with 237 votes to Romney's 206 while eight states remaining as the undecided factor. The eight states are Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin, which combined offer 95 Electoral College votes, enough to give either candidate over the required 270 votes to win the White House. Obama won all eight states in 2008.

Scott Rasmussen stated in his weekly column, "It's somewhat surprising that heading into the final weekend of the election season, we are unable to confidently project who is likely to win the White House. But the race for the White House remains close because of the economy. Most Americans do not feel better off than they were four years ago, but most are not feeling worse off either."

The margin of error for the Rasmussen Reports poll is three percent.
