Atlus has recently revealed the official release date of the much awaited "Persona 5." At the bottom part of the teaser website of "Persona," we see that the new game would be arriving to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 this year, though no specifics were provided. The price has also not yet been disclosed.
Earlier, fans were eager to get a glimpse or new details about the new "Persona" game at the June E3 event. Unfortunately, Atlus did not showcase the new game installment at the said event. But IGN urged fans, saying the game might be showcased at the Tokyo Game Show.
Gamespresso earlier reported that "Persona 5" would likely come out before the year ends. In our previous report, we said that the new game would likely arrive at the last quarter of this year (October to December). We cited Persona Central and Sega Sammy's latest financial report which revealed that four games would be released for the first and second quarter of the 2016 fiscal year (between April and September 2015).
These are "Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai Deluxe" (scheduled for May 28); "Stella Glow" (scheduled for June 4); "Alien Isolation" (scheduled for June 11); and "Persona 4: Dancing All Night" (scheduled for June 25). Since "Persona 5" was excluded from the list, this may indicate that it would come out on the following quarter.
The "Persona 5" website also revealed details about the new game. The protagonist is a second-year high school student who just moved to Tokyo. He is described as "quiet and well-mannered at first glance, but gives a completely different impression once he has donned his 'phantom thief' guise." The protagonist has an initial Persona of Arsene. If these details are still insufficient, here's the game's plot:
"This is an account of the wild adventures experienced by a team of young misfits, who grow dramatically along the way. While attending Shujin High School, the protagonist will encounter a number of individuals, each with his or her own distinctive personality and charm. School life in the city is full of surprises and interesting events! It will most definitely be a fun year for the protagonist, living as an ordinary student...
However, he and his friends become involved in an incident which leads to the awakening of their Personas. No one would ever suspect that these adolescents will eventually shake the world...
Throughout the series, 'Persona' refers to a hidden 'personality' or the 'other self' that lurks within oneself. Personas manifest themselves as legendary gods and demons, and hold otherworldly powers. The adolescents who awaken to the Persona ability wield their powers to confront and overcome many perils that stand in their way."
