Barnes & Noble has slashed the price of their 8 and 16GB Nook Tablets, along with the Nook Color.

The 8GB Nook Tablet now retails for $159, the 16GB for $179, and the Nook Color for $139.

The Nook Color features a 7-inch Color Touchscreen with a 1024 x 600 display, adjustable font sizes, email and web browsing, built in Wi-Fi, an 800MHz TI processor with 512 MB RAM, 8 hours of battery life with wireless off, 8GB built-in memory, and expandable storage up to 32GB with a microSD memory card.

The Nook Tablet allows for 11.5 hours of reading or 9 hours of video without charging, and is offered in both 8 and 16GB versions. The 8GB has a 1GHz TI OMAP4 dual-core processor with 512MB Ram, while the 16GB has a 1GHz TI OMAP4 dual-core processor with 1GB RAM. The tablet also comes pre-loaded with Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora radio, Email, and other apps.

CNET reports that the price reduction is a direct result of the upcoming Nook HD launch, which kicks off on November 8.

Both the Nook HD and Nook HD+ carry a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and microSD slots. The Nook HD sports a 1440 x900-resolution screen, 8GB of storage, weighs 315 grams, and is half an inch narrower than the Kindle Fire. The Nook HD+ shows off a 9-inch, 1920 x1080 resolution screen and weights 515 grams, while carrying 16GB of storage at its base model. Neither version of the Nook HD features a camera. Both versions of the device run off of a modified version of Android.
