21 years after its initial release, the fighting game from Japan has remained popular as ever, with its roster of characters virtually the same, albeit with some enhancements and changes in their appearances, through the years.
Recently, Bandai Namco announced that Jack 7 will be one of the characters appearing in "Tekken 7" and will be sporting a pink mohawk and neon lighting, according to PlayStationLifestyle.net.
Looks like real men do wear pink.
"Jack-7 is scheduled to punch through arcades on May 19 in Japan," the site added.
Jack has appeared in previous "Tekken" iterations, going by Gun Jack in Tekken 3, Jack 4 in Tekken 5, and Jack 6 in Tekken 6, as noted by Venture Capital Post.
"Jack also starred in other Tekken versions such as, Tekken Dark Resurrection, Tekken Tag Tournament, Tekken Revolution, Tekken Hybrid to name a few," the site said further, also noting that Jack 7 still has similar skills as the previous Jack incarnations.
It can be recalled that Jack is mainly a Russian android made by Mishima Zaibatsu of the Heihachi. His creation was expected to help mitigate a coup staged by Kazuya Mishima in a tournament, in which Jack is one of the machines.
So, what does the new Jack has to offer?
"In the trailer he can be seen making up for his relatively slow movements with sweeping punches and crushing kicks that deal big damage to Alisa," Gamespot observed.
"A new grab of his is throwing his opponent in the air and rapidly shooting him/her with machine guns in his fists, "His combos as it seems tend be used to from a distance and are meant to be for harass against an opponent," said Gamespresso.
Aside from Jack 7, "Tekken 7" will include 2 new gameplays - the Rage Arts and the Power Crush.
"For the Rage Arts, gamers can have specific commands to initiate Rage State for the character," VC Post said. "On the other hand, Power Crush, is a set of special moves that can't be tamed by various attacks by the opponents, and causes vulnerability to taking damage."
"Another good news for the gamers are the unlimited usage of these new power-ups to make the game experience more action-packed and extreme," the site went on to say. "However, the health bar of the character might suffer a little bit due to the usage of these upgrades."
"Tekken 7" will reportedly arrive in Xbox and PlayStation in August 2015, aster the EVO 2015 Tournament.
