Despite Hurricane Sandy cancelling the Google October 29 press event, Google still took its blog to reveal three new Nexus devices, including two new tablets - a 32GB Nexus 7 that now has a Wi-Fi version, and a high end Google Nexus 10 tablet.
The Wi-Fi-only 32GB Nexus 7 will be priced at $249 and pretty much be the same as the older 8GB and 16GB models except with more storage capacity. The 8GB model has been phased out and the 16GB Nexus 7 costs $199.
Google is also releasing a 32GB Nexus 7 tablet that will have HSPA+ mobile support. This model will cost $299 and will operate on over 200 networks worldwide, including AT&T and T-Mobile, according to Google. The 32GB mobile Nexus 7 will go on sale November 13.
On top of a Nexus 7 revamp, Google is also launching a new 10-inch tablet with the aid of Samsung dubbed the Google Nexus 10. The Nexus 10 contains the highest resolution on a tablet, according to Google, with a 2560X1600 display that puts out 300 pixels per inch (ppi). By comparison, Apple's new iPad with Retina display has 264 ppi.
The Nexus 10 comes with a dual-core A15 processor that will be running Android 4.2 - the latest version of Google's Android operating system. The Nexus 10 will be available in a Wi-Fi-only 16GB model that will cost $399, and has a release date of November 13. A 32GB model runs $499.
Alongside these new tablet models, Google also announced the LG Nexus 4 smartphone. All the Nexus devices will be running Android 4.2 within the next few weeks.
Does the new tablet lineup from Google have you excited? Would pick the Nexus 7 over the iPad Mini or the Nexus 10 over the iPad?
