Will the next Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 be better than its predecessor?

Certainly, there is still no sure answer as to the question, especially since Tab S2 details are all just based on rumors. But, people usually think that a successor should be better than its predecessors. Let's take a look at Tab S and Tab S2 details.

According to On Leaks, the 9.7 inches version of the tablet would have a Galaxy S6 inspired design and dimensions of 237.17 x 169.58 x 5.5mm. As for the predecessor 10.5 inch Tab S, it has the following dimensions: 247.3 x 177.3 x 6.6 mm.

Vine Report said this makes the Galaxy Tab S2 Samsung's thinnest tablet to date. Earlier reports from Sam Mobile has revealed that the new high-end tablet would come out in four variants (based on its two sizes and connectivity capability) - Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Wi-Fi + LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab S2 and Wi-Fi + LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0. These new sizes are obviously smaller that the current Galaxy Tab S sizes -- 8.4-inches and 10.5-inches.

The Galaxy Tab S2 is said to boast of its AMOLED screen. It is expected to arrive with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 and aspect ratio of 4:3. Its predecessor on the other hand has 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution at 288 ppi pixel density.

The Tab S2 is said to get Exynos 5433 CPU. The Galaxy Tab S meanwhile has Exynos 5420. The S2 is said to have a RAM of 3 GB, same as its predecessor. As for the camera, the tablet is expected to get an 8 megapixel main camera and a 2.1 megapixel selfie shooter. The current Galaxy Tab S device also has the same camera features.

The Tab S2 is said to get a 3850 mAh battery, compared with the Tab S's 7900 mAh battery. The Tab S2 is said to likely come out with the new Android Lollipop update installed in it. The Tab S however came out with the Android Kitkat.

The new Tab S2 tablet is believed to arrive in the US, Canada, European markets, China, Latin America, Hong Kong, Korea, and India.

Sam Mobile has earlier reported that the arrival of the new device has already been confirmed, following a changelog of the Hancom Office Hshow 2014 app.

"The changelog claims that the newest version of the app now supports the Galaxy Tab S2 along with the Galaxy Tab A, thereby confirming the existence of the yet unreleased Galaxy Tab S2," to quote the Sam Mobile report. Here is a screenshot from the news outlet.

Samsung has yet to comment on the matter.
