It looks like that the next iPod Touch 6th Gen is arriving anytime soon. Well, that's if the latest rumors circulating online are indeed true.
Master Herald said there is a possibility of seeing the new music player this June during upcoming World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) which has been set from June 8 to 12.
However, everything remains unsure at the moment since Apple has not yet issued any statement regarding the matter.
It was earlier believed that the next generation iPod Touch would come out in September. It was also Master Herald, which reported about this possibility. It was noted that the device was supposed to come out in March but it did not happen due to the "unexpectedly high" iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus demand.
The next generation of iPod Touch will no longer just be an ordinary music device as speculations that the device would likely be an iPod Touch and iPhone turned into one. The iPod Touch 6th Gen is said to inherit some features from iPhones. Master Herald pointed out that there is a need to revamp the iPod Touch line since the current iPod Touch 5th Generation is not that "impressive."
The new music player has also been dubbed as a "fully-loaded entertainment device." Some of its new features include the Apple Pay which was just recently introduced together with the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
It is expected to get a "better" and "faster" A9 processor. It is also believed that it would come out with iOS 9. There are also whispers that the device might be getting Apple's digital assistant Siri and the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The device is expected to get an 8-megapixel main camera and 1 GB of RAM. It is also said to be water-resistant.
It has been speculated that the new music device would come out in two sizes. The first variant is one with a 4.7-inch screen while the other is larger with a 5.5-inch display size.
Aside from the size variants, fans will also be able to choose from different colors -- silver, pink, red, blue, space grey, and yellow. Plus, there are also whispers suggesting that it might be available on a white or gold version.
The price of the iPod Touch 6th Gen is expected to start at $250. Apple has yet to confirm these rumors.
