When will the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 4 officially arrive?
Microsoft has just unveiled its new Surface 3 laplet. But fans are already requesting for a Surface Pro 4. Certainly, many fans have been left broken-hearted not to see the device at the recent BUILD conference. Now, there are at least three prominent speculations about when it will officially come out.
Christian Times believes that the new device would be launched next week, specifically on May 20. This is kinda seconded by Slash Gear which claimed that the Surface Pro 4 reveal would be in mid-May.
However, International Business Times said that some are saying that the unveiling would likely be in July since it is believed that the new laplet would come out during the showcasing of the Windows 10.
Note that The Verge has confirmed that the new Windows 10 would come out this July, citing AMD president and CEO Lisa Su who said: "With the Windows 10 launch at the end of July, we are watching sort of the impact of that on the back-to-school season, and expect that it might have a bit of a delay to the normal back-to-school season inventory build-up."
Inquisitr on the other hand says it would probably be in another month. In its report, it said that it is likely that the next Microsoft Surface Pro laplet would come out this October. It cited as source industry analyst Paul Mueller.
"The Surface Pro 3 is selling just as well as it did when it first came out. Even though people expected a June or July release for the Pro 4, it probably won't happen until Windows 10 is released. That way, Microsoft could capitalize on both Windows 10 and the new Surface Pro at the same time," Mueller was quoted as saying.
Motley Fool earlier predicted that the new device would just be an "enhanced version" of the Surface Pro 3, saying that the only improvement would be its processor. However, it also aired in a separate report the possibility of the laplet being LTE-capable. BGR meanwhile said that the Surface Pro 4 is expected to be available in two size options -- a 12-inch one and a 14-inch one. The new laplet is said to have an Intel Core i5 processor or a Core i7 processor. Its RAM is expected to be at 16 GB. Microsoft has not yet confirmed any of these reports and speculations.
What do you think? Should Microsoft unveil this month? Or should it still wait for some time?
