The 2015 version of Moto X is set to be released this third quarter of the year, specifically in August or September, according to recent news reports.
Android Origin noted that Motorola usually announces its new X series every third quarter so an August or September launch would be likely. It also argued that this imminent launch would be the main reason behind the many rumors and speculations bombarding the Internet lately.
According to reports, the Moto X (2015) will have a 5.2 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. Phone Arena and STJS Gadgets have previously said the same, adding that it would probably have a resolution panel of 1440 x 2560 and a pixel density of 565ppi.
A recent development has also revealed that the new device will have a 16 megapixel camera with an optical image stabilizer. Phone Arena citing STJS Gadgets reported that the new device's camera will use Clear Pixel technology. In a photo it showed, STJS Gadgets revealed that the 3rd Generation Moto X would be capable of 4K recording at 30 frames per second, 1080p recording at 60 and 120 frames per second and 720p recording at 240 frames per second.
Aside from this, the new device is said to get a 5 megapixel front camera, so expect better selfie photos this time!
The new device is said to get a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset. WCCF Tech said that Motorola likely shunned from using the newer Snapdragon 810 due to overheating issues associated with it. The new device is also likely to have a 4GB of RAM.
Moto X (2015) is expected to be available on two variants -- one with a 32 GB of storage and the other with a 64 GB of memory. The handset is said to be installed with the newest Android L 5.1.1 version.
Details about the new high-end phone remain scarce at the moment, well, if we are to compare it to reports about the upcoming Moto G (2015). These speculations are still unconfirmed since Motorola has been mum about the matter.
But as far as the Moto X is concerned, Motorola President Rick Osterloh has somewhat hinted about the possible release of the device.
"We try to stay on a roughly annual cycle for all of our products including Moto X," Osterloh tweeted, however failing to detail on the matter.
