The E3 2015 event is set to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California from June 16 to 18, and there are rumors that Capcom will finally be unveiling the much-awaited "Resident Evil 7."

There have been no official confirmation yet whether "Resident Evil 7" will actually be introduced at E3 2015, Christian Today reported. There have been vague descriptions so far, and other gamers believe that the game developer might even feature "Devil May Cry 4: Enhanced Edition" at the conference instead.

Super Data wrote, "We anticipate this month's downturn to level off during the coming few months, following a regular seasonal pattern but expect to see an upswing as the next editions of several major franchises like Halo and Resident Evil come out in the 2015 fall season."

Super Data then provided an update, stating, "Resident Evil 7, following the success of Resident Evil HD Remaster, we're expecting more to come down the pipe this year, but have no information that points to the release of Resident Evil 7 specifically. That would be sweet, though."

Meanwhile, a NeoGaf thread revealed that a costume designer worked on "Resident Evil 7" over a three-month period from November 2012 to 2013, which could mean that a seventh installment is in the works.

A new title to the Resident Evil series is needed to fix its blunders with "Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City" and "Resident Evil 6", according to Game Rant. "Raccoon City" garnered negative feedback from gamers, while the sixth installment had mixed reviews. The two titles may have been proof that Capcom may be running out of ideas by focusing on the general gaming audience, instead of keeping true to its identity and giving fans the story and genre that earned their loyalty in the first place, the site explained.

The goal is said to follow the tone of "Resident Evil 4" and the gameplay and cinematic quality of "Resident Evil 5", based on the same article by Game Rant. VG247 recommended that Capcom remove the focus on shooter action and make resources rare so that combat only serves as a secondary option, maintaining panic and a sense of being threatened throughout the game. It would also be a good idea to bring back the maze-type environments and lock-and-key arrangements. Fans are generally asking to bring the game back to how it used to be.

Gamers will have to wait one more month to discover whether Capcom will reinvigorate the series by releasing "Resident Evil 7".
