The rumored Moto X (2015) is said to have a 16 megapixel camera with an optical image stabilizer. The news comes from Phone Arena.
The camera will also reportedly use Clear Pixel Technology. Cited as source was STJS Gadgets. In a photo it showed, STJS Gadgets revealed that the 3rd Generation Moto X would be capable of 4K recording at 30 frames per second, 1080p recording at 60 and 120 frames per second and 720p recording at 240 frames per second.
Phone Arena and STJS Gadgets previously revealed that the next Moto X device would have a 5.2-inch display with a resolution panel of 1440 x 2560, same as those on the DROID Turbo. It will then have a pixel density of 565ppi.
Now for the processor, the new device is said to get a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset. WCCF Tech said that Motorola likely stayed away from using the newer Snapdragon 810 due to overheating issues associated with it.
Also, it will likely have a 4GB of RAM. The device is also believed to be available on two variants -- one with a 32 GB of storage and the other with a 64 GB of memory. Aside from the 16 megapixel rear camera mentioned a while ago, the new device is also said to get a 5 megapixel front camera. Perfect for selfies! As for the software, the handset is said to be pre-installed with the newest Android L 5.1.1 version.
If these new bunch of rumors are true then this year's Moto X would be considered "a big upgrade" from the previous year's handset, says BGR, specifically citing the new camera and the optical image stabilization (OIS) technology feature. While the megapixel count does not really matter, the new OIS feature might make some difference especially during low light situations.
Phone Arena said it is likely that the third generation Moto X would come out this September and if those rumors mentioned earlier supposedly come out to be true then the new handset would be the firm's new flagship device.
Motorola President Rick Osterloh earlier told one of his Twitter followers that a newer version of the most-loved Moto X would indeed gonna arrive soon.
"We try to stay on a roughly annual cycle for all of our products including Moto X," he tweeted, refusing however to give a more specific release date.
