Google looks like it's ready to begin rolling out the next update to its Android operating system, Android 4.2, at its October 29 event. Sadly it looks like millions of Android users are still waiting to receive Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. If you're a Galaxy Note owner, however, a leaked dump of Android 4.1.1 has appeared for download.
Keep in mind this is in an incredibly early build, and is a risky flash. Like with all ROMS, this could void your warranty, and damage your phone. An official update is always the safest (and usually the most stable) and LatinosPost does not endorse the use of the ROM - you use it at your own risk.
If you're still brave, then head over to XDA to check out the post of the leaked ROM by eybee1970, courtesy of the keen eyes of those at SamMobile.
Samsung has mentioned that they are working on an Android Jelly Bean update for the original Galaxy Note, but has failed to give specifics in the past. The handset currently runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
A recent posting by Samsung Sweden, however, gave a much more specific time frame for the official Galaxy Note update. Samsung Sweden stated that the Galaxy Note was to receive Jelly Bean in the fourth quarter of 2012. The also mentioned that the Galaxy S2 will get Jelly Bean in November, and that the Galaxy Note 10.1 will get Jelly Bean in the fourth quarter as well.
Being an Android user can be quite frustrating if your device isn't Google-branded, since Android updates can take forever to go through the proper channels before being released. Luckily, it looks like Samsung is at the forefront of bringing Jelly Bean to its smartphones and tablets and isn't forgetting about its older releases.
