Google is set to have an October 29 press conference that will reveal a number of Google offerings from a new Android 4.2 to a 32GB Nexus 7 tablet. Among the devices will be Google's next smartphone, the LG Nexus 4. A recent interview slip from an LG executive revealed that the phone will start rolling out soon after October 29.
The hint comes from LG India's head of mobile product planning, Amit Guraj, during an interview with IBN Live.
"Google will unveil the LG Nexus on October 29 and the phone will be available in the Indian markets by the end of November," said Gujral.
This means that a release in markets such as the United States and Europe will probably come first. The LG Nexus 4 could be on store shelves as soon as early November.
There's no official word on the phones specs, but leaks and reports indicate the following.
Apparently the LG Nexus 4 in incredibly similar to the LG Optimus G, but you can count on the Nexus-branded device to receive Android updates earlier.
With a 4.7-inch display and a resolution of 1280X768, the LG Nexus 4 also has a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor and 2GB of RAM. The Nexus 4 should also have an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 8GB storage.
The Nexus 4 will also come with Android 4.2, which Google is expected to show off on October 29 as well.
As the demand for Android devices has been increasing, Google has been partnering with the likes of Samsung and Asus as well to bring Nexus-branded tablets and smartphones to battle the Apple juggernaut.
