The next iPad Mini tablet is expected to be slimmer and faster than its predecessor. This news comes from Venture Capital Post. The alleged new tablet dubbed as iPad Mini 4 is said to closely resemble the iPad Air 2.
VC Post cited French website NoWhereElse and the photos it provided to serve as proof. check them out here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
Christian Post said the official market release of the iPad Mini 4 would be in September, less than a year since the latest iPad Mini 3 was released. Mac World on the other hand says it would come out in October.
The iPad Mini 4 is said to have a 7.9-inch display screen. It is also expected that the device would boast of its powerful A8X processor, though a report from Gotta Be Mobile says it would probably be an A9 processor.
It is also said to have the 802.11ac connectivity feature which VC Post means it would be "up to 1733 mbps of wireless Internet connection that can work on a 5 GHz frequency band." The news outlet also said that based on the photos provided by NoWhereElse, the mute/lock switch of the iPad Mini has been replaced by a microphone.
"The plan specs upgrade for the iPad Mini 4 is timely considering that its predecessor has no other significant specs boosts, except for the Touch ID. The addition of gold packaging in color options is also considered a minimal change in the design department. There are also the impressive specs boosts from rival brands that Apple can only compete with by producing better version of the iPad Mini 3. That's not to mention that other brands are offering equally performing devices at a lower price," VC Post said.
It was earlier expected that the next iPad Mini would be unveiled at "Spring Forward" event. However, it did not come out. Instead, the Apple products which were unveiled were the Apple Watch and gold Retina MacBook Pro.
