The rumored iPhone 7 and iPad Pro are said to use the special aluminum alloy that the Apple Watch has, Valuewalk reported citing Ecumenical News. The material is called 7000 Series aluminum.
"[F]resh reports claim that the iPhone 7 is likely use Apple's custom Series 7000 aluminum alloy, which is designed to be 60 percent stronger than most aluminum, and has one-third the density of stainless steel, while still being light in weight. If Apple does manage to use the Series 7000 aluminum for building the iPhone 7, then it could result in the device's case being 60 percent harder and finally resolve bending issues," Ecumenical News said.
Valuewalk said the news that aluminum would be utilized is "not a huge innovation" but the specific material itself is quite special. It added that Apple possibly used such material to ensure that the new gadgets would be durable, following the "bendgate" reports last year.
Aside from the aluminum alloy, the next iPhone is expected to get an upgraded Touch ID as reported by Mac Rumors. There have also been speculations that this would be the "biggest iPhone camera jump ever." But news outlet Taipei Times said there is a huge possibility that the new iPhone (though it called it iPhone 6S) would still have the current 8-megapixel camera, which the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus both have.
Stabley Times speculated that at least two new iPhones will be released this year -- the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 7. According to Yibada, the iPhone 7 is expected to get a new Force Touch technology, iOS 9, and A9 processors.
Also, there have been reports saying that the new iPhone would have a joystick and facial recognition feature. There were also speculations that it would be a flexible device after Apple was granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office to create such device.
Valuewalk speculated that if iPhone 7 gets the special aluminum alloy, then it is also likely that the rumored larger tablet iPad Pro would also get the same. The iPad Pro or the larger Apple tablet is said to have a 12.2 inches to 12.9 inches high resolution display.
Mac Rumors said it would closely resemble the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3. The larger Apple tablet is said to measure 7mm. It is expected to have 2GB of RAM, Touch ID, A8X processor, and iOS 8. It is also said to be available in silver, gold, and space gray color options.
Business Insider meanwhile reported that the new iPad Pro, also known as iPad Air Plus, would get at least "four integrated speakers" to boost sound and volume.
Apple has yet to confirm these speculations
