The HTC One X+ has many smartphone enthusiasts excited. The HTC One X was the king of Android phones until the Galaxy S3 came along, but the upgraded version looks like it will launch a good counter attack. Only bad news? The HTC One X+ seems to have been delayed.
U.K. retailer CloveTechnology had started taking pre-orders earlier this month, and had originally listed a shipping date of October 22. A look at Clove's website now shows a shipping date of October 30.
Clove lists the phone at £474, or $764, including VAT fee, for an unlocked, SIM-free 64GB model.
Retailer Expansys had also started taking pre-orders, and now states that the HTC One X+ is "ordered on request" and that the handset should ship in "normally less than five days."
Expansys charges £495, or $793 for the unlocked version.
In the United States, carrier AT&T will be offering the HTC One X+, although there is no confirmed release date. Expect it to come out in the next couple months, far after the phone hits international markets.
The HTC One X+ is essentially a souped-up version of the original One X. This time around, the phone will sport an incredible 1.7GHz quad-core processor and a Tegra 3 chipset that HTC claims will improve performance by up to 67 percent.
The phone will also be 4G LTE capable, and be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box. The HTC One X+ will also come with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera and despite having the same 4.7-inch screen size and beefier specs, the HTC One X+ will actually be slimmer than its predecessor.
The handset is almost guranteed to offer one of the most pleasing Android experiences around, so keep your eyes on this smartphone if you are looking for an alternative to the more popular Samsung Galaxy S3 and Apple iPhone 5.
