A new game based on the popular TV show "The Walking Dead" is set to be available on iOS and Android devices, based on a report by Android Central.
Cinema Blend reported that game developer Next Games announced that it will be featuring the mobile game "The Walking Dead: No Man's Land", set to be playable on Apple devices in the fall of 2015. The Android version will follow afterwards.
Although there were not much details presented about the new game yet, many expect that it could be a strategy game where players get to create a stronghold to protect themselves against hordes of zombies. Characters may be responsible for building up defenses, searching for supplies, as well as finding a way to stop the plague. Players should ensure that all characters are attending to their tasks. Otherwise, they might be ostracized or even killed off.
Additionally, Kalle Kaivola of Next Games explained the mechanics in the same report by Cinema Blend. She promised that there will be a lot of opportunities to battle and eliminate zombies.
He said in a report by EW, "Players will be in charge of building the stories of the survivors through their actions in the game. They're building a group of survivors and are in charge of their fortunes in the world of The Walking Dead."
Kaivola added, "Not everyone will fit in your group or will be strong enough to go forward with you."
The survival part of the game will require players to train the various members of their team so that their abilities and skills are enhanced and maximized as the story continues. Similar to the TV show, weak members of the group might be sent away or even eliminated. Gamers will have to make sound decisions and strategies to ensure that survival of their team in the post-apocalyptic setting. There will be many choices along the way that can result to short and long-term effects.
The game will present a large cast of characters, which will most likely be introduced at various phases of the story. Each character will have his strengths and weaknesses, so gamers may have the option of choosing which ones get to stay and who are not worth keeping for long. Initial images of the characters have been shown by Cinema Blend. It is still uncertain whether Rick Grimes or any of the popular members of the TV show cast will appear in the game.
