Rumors are brewing that the new larger Apple tablet which is allegedly called the iPad Pro is already on the way. BGR said it has found "more evidence" that an iPad Pro or iPad Air Plus is indeed in the works. The evidence it cited was a news report from Korean publication ETNews.

"LG Display is expanding production capability for low power-high resolution oxide thin film transistor (TFT) panel. It is because Apple is putting oxide TFT panel into their next generation iPads. Oxide TFT reduces the power usage and is good for condensed products.

"LG Display has begun on investment for the 8th generation (2200 x 2500mm) P8·P9 line for oxide TFT processing that is located in Paju. The scale size is 21,000 sheets per month with glass disks as standard. Some of the main equipment selections are made by the company," the April 6 report written by Sung Hyeon-hee reads.

The report stressed that the expansion which would result in the production of 30,000 sheets per month was caused by Apple's decision to use oxide panels on their future tablets and iMacs.

"Investment to produce 30,000 sheets next year's second quarter have started. Apple is creating iPads with 12.9 inch display, which shows they are increasing the panel size. And because so, we are planning in expanding production rate as well," said a "well-informed LG Display related official" to ET News.

It added that Apple is eyeing oxide thin film transistor from LG Display, Samsung Display, and Sharp.

According to Mac Rumors, the iPad Pro is is said to have a 12.2 inches to 12.9 inches high resolution display. This means that it would be Apple's largest tablet, beating both the 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 and the 7.9-inch iPad mini 3. It is even close to the size of the current MacBook Air.

Despite the size difference, Apple is said to maintain many features of the current iPads in the new tablet. Mac Rumors said it would closely resemble the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3. The larger Apple tablet is said to measure 7mm. It is expected to have 2GB of RAM, Touch ID, A8X processor, and iOS 8. It is also said to be available in silver, gold, and space gray color options.

A separate report from Business Insider said that the new iPad Pro, also known as iPad Air Plus, would get at least "four integrated speakers" to boost sound and volume.

We also reported earlier that there were speculations saying that the new iPad would get a stylus. According to Japanese magazine Mac Fan, the new iPad will measure 305.31mm x 220.8mm x 7mm or 12 inches x 8.7 inches x 0.28 inches. It said it will have a 12.2-inch display but Bloomberg said that the new iPad will probably measure 12.9 inches diagonally.
