"Ascendance", the second expansion of "Call of Duty" Advanced Warfare", was officially released on March 31, while the add-on DLC will follow.
GameSpot reported that the "Ascendance" add-on DLC will be available for PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in a month's time, featuring new maps, weapons and a barrage of zombies in a whole new chapter. However, the DLC is a product of the exclusivity agreement between Microsoft and Activision, which is why it will first be available on the Microsoft Xbox One and Xbox 360.
The DLC will come with the $50 Advanced Warfare DLC pass and can also be bought separately for $15. There will be four new multiplayer maps namely Perplex, Climate, Site 244 and Chop Shop. Yahoo! reported that "Exo Zombies Chapter Two" will also be featured in the add-on, which is set on the outskirts of an Atlas facility. The episode features new undead masses, traps, weapons and "everyone's favorite fast food joint, Burgertown". Players will have to use speed and cunning to get through the zombie hordes.
There will be various new weapons such as the OHM directed energy light machine gun/shotgun hybrid and the OHM Werewolf custom variant, which are currently available for holders of the DLC pass. The "Exo Grapple", a new playlist will also be available, which allows players a faster mode to reach strategic vantage points. It also serves as a powerful secondary weapon to take down enemies. The move is exclusive on "Ascendance" maps.
Based on the same report by Yahoo!, "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Ascendance" is currently sold at a suggested retail price of $14.99. The DLC Pack is also included in the Season Pass of "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare". Fans can expect access to all four DLC Packs that will release throughout 2015, if they have the Season Pass. The four packs will be offered as a discounted bundle at a suggested retail price of $49.99. The first expansion was "Havoc", so there will be two more DLCs available after "Ascendance".
PCGamer reported that in the story, John Malkovich, Bill Paxton, John Bernthal and Rose McGowan will be returning in the second episode of their adventures, which will be included in the "Ascendance" DLC.
PCGamer also showed a video trailer of the upcoming DLC, featuring the new venues and a barrage of new zombie enemies.
The game is rated M for Mature with Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence and Strong Language.
