Liu Kang will be rising from the dead in the upcoming "Mortal Kombat X" game, Neoseeker reported. Watch the trailer here:
"Today, MAXIM & Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released the 'Mortal Kombat X' Official Shaolin Trailer, which puts the spotlight on three characters: Sharp-witted Kung Lao, series newcomer Kung Jin and Klassic 'Mortal Kombat' Kombatant Liu Kang. The trailer provides further insight into 'Mortal Kombat X's story, revealing that Raiden's champions of Earthrealm from the past have risen from the dead, under the control of the sinister former Elder God, Shinnok," a short description for the video reads.
Neoseeker noted that Liu Kang already died in the previous game and is coming back as a member of the enemy forces as they were able to capture his soul in the last game. Liu Kang is known as the "good guy" and the ultimate champion in all Mortal Kombat tournaments, defeating all evil.
The trailer came out exclusively at Maxim Russia. In the trailer, we see two former heroes Liu Kang and Kung Lao. Also being introduced in the video teaser is newcomer Kung Jin, Kung Lao's cousin. Neoseeker speculates that he might be in the franchise to "either save him or put an end to him."
IGN meanwhile observed that Bo' Rai Cho was spotted at the start of the trailer, thus suggesting the possibility of him being a playable character soon. What do you think? Should Bo' Rai Cho be included as a playable character?
IGN added that the new game will feature a new Kustom Kombat mode and that another five other fighters are rumored to join the "Mortal Kombat X" roster.
Earlier, we saw Ermac becoming the 14th character to be included on the roster, as reported by IGN. We see that Ermac has already evolved from a former red-clad ninja into a now very sophisticated and zombie-looking evil villain. Ermac still has his telekinetic and teleportation abilities. Plus, we also saw Reptile again coming back to the game.
Air Herald said citing Finnish magazine Pelaaja that a much older Kung Lao, the protagonist, will return in "Mortal Kombat X." Other cast members confirmed for the new installment include Goro, Raiden, Scorpion, Sub Zero, Kano, and Quan Chi. Gamespot said that other characters confirmed to be added in the new installment are D'Vorah, Ferra/Torr, Cassie Cage, and Kotal Kahn.
"Mortal Kombat X" is set to arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 14. It will also be available on PS3 and Xbox 360. Plus there have been reports that a DLC pack called "Kombat Pack" will come out.
