HTC revealed its newest device, the J Butterfly, today in Tokyo.

The J Butterfly prides itself on being the first phone with a 5-inch, 440ppi full-HD "Super LCD 3." The company's website lists the phone's specs as having a 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution, weighs approximately 140 grams and is sized at 143x9.1 mm. It has 2GB of RAM, runs on Android 4.1Jelly Bean, and is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ804 processor.

International Business Times said although the display is bigger, the phone itself is not much larger than the One X, which measures 34.4 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm.

IBT said the phone's battery may not perform so well since it'll be powering the phone's LCD and high-end processor, so they're interested to see how it performs.

The phone's main attraction is the display screen, according to The Verge.

"The Super LCD 2 seen in HTC's previous flagship One X was arguably the best panel on the market, but we think its successor is the new champion. Color reproduction is excellent, the 440ppi resolution is astonishing, and the screen's slightly curved edges make the image look like it's melting off the side of the phone. It doesn't feel overbearing in the hands, either; the phone's 9.1mm thinness and slim bezel make it surprisingly compact, and we found it was easily pocketable," the article read.

The Verge said an HTC rep confirmed to them that the phone's display will makes its way "into other phones around the world."

The phone is expected to be released this December. It will be sold in only three colors: red, white and black.
