Windows Pro is geared towards business environments and promises enhanced encryption, the ability to access remote files, and to connect to company networks.
Those who upgrade from Windows XP will be able to keep their personal files, Vista users can keep their Windows settings and perosnal files, Windows 7 users can keep their software programs, Windows settings, and personal files, Windows 8 Developer Preview users can acess their old files in the windows.old folder, and Windows 8 preview users can acess keep their personal files.
Consumers who opt for the more vanilla version of Windows 8 will be able to purchase a discounted version of the OS for $39 between its release on Oct. 26 and Jan. 31, 2013.
