'GTA 6' Release Date, Rumors & News: Going Back to Liberty City?

Is the next "Grand Theft Auto" game coming back to the Liberty City? Nothing is sure at the moment but The Fuse Joplin said there have been rumors that the upcoming "GTA 6" would probably come back to Liberty City or Vice City.

Note that it is not the first time that we heard this rumor as talks and discussions about GTA's next destination have earlier been the contents of many game forums. For instance, one user named iNero posted on GTA Forums that there might be a possibility of the next "GTA" game being held again at the Liberty City.

This speculation was also backed by an earlier report of Baller Status. It cited DJ Whoo Kid saying, "I was in Call Of Duty and I was in some Grand Theft Auto games. I'm 'bout to be in the new Grand Theft Auto that takes place in New York again." Baller Status said the statement could mean that the game would come back to the Liberty City, where the 1997 original game took place.

The rumor of course earned mixed reactions from fans. While some see it as a not-so-good move, some saw it as an advantage. Raavi, for example, posted on GTA Forums that Liberty City as the next "GTA" game's location would be amazing.

"I sincerely hope this turns out to be true, GTA IV didn't even scratch the surface of the potential of Liberty City. Think about it, huge detailed map with surrounding countryside, detailed alive city with lots of variety and enterable buildings, a working stock market system that effects the financial center, dynamic weather that grips the city, a working transit system, a working police system, an even more extensive public transportation system, realistic denseness of pedestrian populating the city and so much more. It would make sense, we had sun soaked Southern San Andreas, now Liberty State including Liberty City, Parody of the Hamptons, Niagra Falls. Perhaps even a parody of Boston, Philly and/or DC as second city. My imagination is running wild, but the possibilities are truly limitless," to quote him.

There is still no official word as to where the next "GTA" game would take place but we have earlier reported that there were rumors saying it would happen in Vice City. Note that a previous "GTA" version has already happened in the said city.

Plus, there was also this suggestion from Movoto which stated that the next "GTA" installment should feature Portland, Oregon. Movoto said it is the perfect setting for the game since it has at least nine gun stores, over 80 different strip clubs, many shops, and six police stations. The Fuse Joplin also said there were speculations that the game would have multiple locations and gamers are allowed to travel from one town to another.
