March is going to be an exciting month for PlayStation subscribers as Sony releases a new set of games for free, PlayStation Blog reports.
First off is "Oddworld, which is free to download for PlayStation Plus users. This is a one-player game. It needs a DUALSHOCK 4 set and a 1080p HD Video Output.
According to the game description, gamers will explore "ancient ruins, dodge carnivorous beasts and avoid trigger-happy hunting parties as Abe, the original Oddworld hero in this lovingly re-crafted take on PlayStation® classic Abe's Oddysee."
PlayStation Blog also noted that the new release will offer enhanced visuals, sound, controls and even an exciting "dark humor" for the game.
The next big game is "Valiant Hears: The Great War." This game has a 4 out of 5 rating from IGN. This game stands out because it is a rare game that features the World War.
"It's a studied depiction, but one I which you rarely shoot a gun. It's a puzzle adventure that's much more interested I how people are affected by such terrible events than recreating the violence," IGN noted in a report.
It is sold for $14.99 in Amazon but PlayStation Plus users can download it for free.
For PS3 users with PlayStation Plus accounts, Sony has rolled out 2 titles. "Papo & Yo" is currently offered for PS3 gamers, together with "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments."
"Papo & Yo" has a 3.5 out of 5 rating in Metacritic. According to the game's summary, the title is about a boy's relationship with his "sometimes-scary best friend."
The player will progress in the game by overcoming the moody Monster.
"If Monster is in a good mood, he will play with Quico and help with tasks; if Monster is hungry, he will seek out food; if that food happens to be a poisonous frog, he'll transform into a terrifying killing machine bent on nothing but destruction," reads the description.
On the other hand, "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments" has been rated 8 out of 10 by Gamespot. The game revolves around the iconic detective's adventures.
The distinction with this game is the participation of the gamer.
According to the summary, the user "will not be a mere spectator during the detective's investigation." Gamers will "truly become Sherlock Holmes and lead your own investigation." All the challenges have been depicted from the Conan Doyle novels.
