Sony earlier unveiled a list of PS3, PS4, and PS Vita games it will be releasing this year. And it has come to the attention of many gamers that the much-awaited "Kingdom Hearts 3" was not included in the list.
Game publisher and developer Square Enix USA even tweeted about its exclusion last January. "There was a Goof! The release date for @KINGDOMHEARTS III remains unannounced," it wrote. This has obviously left many fans very disappointed as they have already been waiting for the game for quite a very long time now.
Kdramastars said this could mean that the game would be released in the following year. However, according to Amazon, the game would officially be available on PS4 and Xbox One this December 31.
Meanwhile, Attack of the Fanboy have some speculations about the new game installment that is not centered on its release date. It said that the game might have a new "online feature/mode." Its speculation stemmed from an alleged job posting from Square Enix.
The position's job description, when translated into English, says (courtesy of Attack of the Fanboy): "In charge of general technical assistance (workflow construction, selection of middleware etc) in Implementing the high quality graphic expression or Kingdom Hearts III. In charge of construction duties for a shader on the game engine for nature representations (water, rain, snow etc) and special effects (magic etc) etc, constantly online games."
With this, Attack of the Fanboy is suggesting that this could mean that there might be an "online co-op mode" included in the third installment. It could possibly be an online multiplayer mode.
Aside from this, there are also rumors that the new game would include new characters such as Elsa, Darth Vader, and Iron Man, according to Crossmap. Asked to comment on this, Director Tai Yasue said, "I can't really go into any specifics or say anything about Star Wars, but when we come up with worlds we really want variety and to make sure that there's a lot of different types of worlds." Other characters rumored to be in the new game installment are Snow White and her seven dwarfs, Mulan, Peter Pan, Tarzan, Simba, and Captain Jack Sparrow.
