Samsung Galaxy S3 owners are patiently tapping their foot waiting for the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update to hit their countries. What they might not know, is that Google has already released an incremental update, Android 4.1.2, that has only hit Google-branded devices. But if you're a Galaxy S3 owner, and don't feel like missing out on yet another update, you can use a custom ROM to enjoy Android 4.1.2 on your handset.
XDA developer bajee11 posted a Root Box Android 4.1.2 ROM update for the Galaxy S3 model GT-I9300. Keep in mind, that this update is unofficial, could void your warranty, and only works for Galaxy S3s that are model GT-I9300. Any other model could simply crash.
If you're still interested in updating your Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 at your own risk to Android 4.1.2, here's how to do it, courtesy of TechnoStall.
Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean brings some minor updates such as landscape mode through your homepages and bug fixes. Jelly Bean also comes with Project Butter, which makes the entire operating system look smoother, and Google Now, a voice assistant.
