The Android L 5.0 Lollipop update for Sony's current flagship device, Xperia Z3, has already been certified according to recent reports. The news comes from Xperia Blog which cited Chinese website Juggly.

Xperia Blog said that the Android software was certified by Wi-Fi Alliance for the handset. According to the leaked photo provided by Juggly, the date of certification was February 16, 2015. It had the certification ID WFA54677.

The International Business Times said that this new leak could mean an "imminent" release of the newest Android update for the device.

Android Geeks predicts that the update could roll out later this month. Besides, the Japanese electronics giant had earlier promised that it would roll out the update to the Z3 and Z2 in this year's first quarter and if the leak proves to be correct, they are right on time. However, users have to really wait as the update usually comes out in "phases" and some get the update earlier while some get it much later.

To users who gets the update notice at the notifications bar, don't forget to tap on it and follow all its instructions. The download then starts and installation soon follows. Those who can no longer wait can also check manually from time to time. Just go to Settings, then to About Phone, then to Software Updates, and then Check Now.

Noted by Android Origin as the company that has a "reputation of being very slow" when it comes to Android updates, Sony could even be the last major company to roll out the said update. The news outlet suggests this could be due to its recent layoffs.

Meanwhile, HTC Product Management Vice President Mo Versi himself revealed that they are aiming to roll out the update to the HTC One M7 T-Mobile users this month. When one Twitter user asked him when the update would be coming out to HTC One M7 T-Mobile users, Versi replied, "@CUBANO66 Hi Elvis, end of the month is our target. Will advise once closer. Thanks."

When another asked him when the Lollipop would roll out to HTC One M8 Verizon users, Versi said that the update is still in the lab but they are "expecting approval first week of March." As for HTC One M8 AT&T users, it looks like that you'll also get the same time frame, as revealed by Versi.

Remember that we earlier reported that both T-Mobile and Sprint have already rolled out the OS to its HTC One M8 subscribers via OTA. Note that the Taiwanese firm was not able to fulfill its 90-day goal for the Lollipop update roll out, as admitted by Versi himself in a statement posted on the HTC website.
