It looks like the Korean electronics giant is planning to add a bunch of new tablets to its roster of products. The news comes from Sam Mobile which reported that Samsung is currently making at least two new mid-range tablets allegedly called Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab A Plus.
Two Sizes
The exclusive report said the two new tablets will be available in two sizes: 8 inches and 9.7 inches.
Specs
The new tablets are believed to have the same specs and features. The only difference is that the Galaxy Tab A Plus will have a stylus. Also, it will have a larger RAM of 2GB while the Galaxy Tab A is rumored to get 1.5GB.
The smaller versions are expected to get a 1024×768 pixel display resolution, a Snapdragon 410 as processor, a 5 megapixel main camera and a 2 megapixel front camera, 16GB of internal storage, and 4,200 mAh batteries. The larger variants are expected to get 6,000 mAh batteries and Qualcomm APQ8016 processors. The tablets are also expected to have LTE and Wi-Fi variants. Based on the data provided by Zauba, several pieces of the said model have been sent to India. The first batches were for "research and development and evaluation" while the two recent batches were "for testing and evaluation." The first sample was sent on December 22 last year while the latest shipment was on January 31 this year. It was also emphasized that the tablets are "not for sale."
Galaxy Tab E and J
In another report, Sam Mobile also revealed that Samsung has applied for trademark for its Galaxy Tab A, Galaxy Tab E, and Galaxy Tab J. Could this mean that buyers and fans have to expect new tablets in various sizes and in different price ranges? The details about the new Galaxy Tab A device have been discussed at the first portion of this report. As for the two other tablets, no further details about them can be found.
The news outlet has also discovered other tablets which could probably come out as part of the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note series. These are Galaxy Tab AS, under model numbers SM-T350 and SM-T351, and the Galaxy Tab AL, under model numbers SM-T550 and SM-T551.
