Recent reports are saying that the new iOS update would be released ahead of the new Apple Watch. This is contrary to earlier speculations that the new Apple wearable will be released alongside the iOS 8.2.
This news comes from BGR which reported that one of its "trusted sources" revealed to them that the iOS 8.2 would be out by March while the Apple Watch has been set for April. 9to5mac says the same thing. It predicts that the OS would come out by the second week of March. The iOS 8.2 is expected to provide improvements and fixes to Apple's OS and is expected to support the upcoming wearable.
Master Herald has also reported earlier that the new Apple Watch has been confirmed to take center stage this April. Note that although the new wearable was already introduced during the unveiling of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus last year, it has not yet officially been released due to the unavailability of some of its parts.
KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo earlier predicted that the device would probably come out this March together with the rumored iPod Touch 6th generation and the latest Apple mobile operating system, according to a Mac Rumors report. But in a separate report, the news outlet acknowledged the "fairly accurate" predictions of BGR when it comes to iOS release dates so there are chances that they are again getting this right.
Last month, Apple has asked "high profile" app developers to ready their Apple Watch apps for a mid-February launch. It is also reported that employees of the Cupertino-based firm are already wearing and testing the Apple watches themselves.
There are at least three kinds of Apple Watch. These are the Apple Watch collection, Apple Watch Sport collection, and Apple Watch Edition collection. Each particular type has their own distinct designs.
For instance, the Apple Watch collection uses "highly polished stainless steel and space black stainless steel cases" with a display "protected by sapphire crystal."
The Apple Watch Edition, on the other hand, has 18-karat gold case. There are at least six metal colors buyers can choose from: stainless steel, silver aluminum, space black stainless steel, space gray aluminum, 18-karat yellow gold and 18-karat rose gold. Buyers can also choose from several leather bands: a link bracelet, sport band, leather loop, classic buckle, modern buckle, and Milanese loop.
Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Sport collection has "lightweight anodized aluminum in silver and space gray" and has Ion-X glass-protected display. Its band is available in five colors: blue, pink, white, green, and black.
The device also comes with several watch faces and boasts a lot of features. It is packed with very useful instruments such as accelerometer and heart rate sensor. It also Wi-Fi and GPS-enabled.
Tagged as their "most personal device ever," Apple Watch starts at $349.
