Game developer Ready at Dawn announced that they have finished development of their upcoming game "The Order: 1886," and confirmed the official release date and bonuses that will be available for those who pre-ordered, IGN reported.
"The Order: 1886" is a single-player, action adventure game developed by Ready at Dawn and SCE Santa Monica Studio exclusively for the PlayStation 4. A trailer for the game has been released as far back as February last year by Sony PlayStation, as well as another trailer which came out in August during the official Gamescom 2014.
After nearly a year of waiting, fans and gamers are happy to note that the developers have finished production and are ready to manufacture discs and distribute the game.
Ready at Dawn officially announced the news through a tweet sent out on Saturday that said, "#TheOrder1886 is officially GOLD! We can't wait for all of you to play the game on February 20th."
Ru Weerasuriya, the CEO of Ready at Dawn, also confirmed the news and tweeted, "Here's to everyone who walked the road with us!"
In line with the announcement of its release, Sony also announced the preorder bonus materials for gamers, according to Game Spot.
Those who bought the game ahead of its release will get "The Knight's Arsenal" DLC for the game, as well as alternate costumes for Galahad, the game's protagonist. There are also alternate weapons available, such as an Arc Rifle Prototype, which is said to release devastating bolts of red electricity, and an explosive Arsonist Rifle.
Also, gamers who preordered the game through Game Stop will get the Knight's Endurance Pack, a Desert Khaki uniform and the medkit tool, Endless Blackwater tonic.
"The Order: 1886" is set to Victorian Era London where man used advanced technology to fight against an ancient and powerful foe. The gamer plays Galahad, a member of the elite Knights, and will join the centuries-old war to defeat the enemy and stop the war, according to Geeky-Gadgets.
An industry insider also released a tip though the NeoGAF forums recently, claiming that playing the game takes "8 - 10 hours, 10 - 12 if you like to take your time, take in the sights and explore a bit. Difficulty will also change things around," according to PlayStation Universe.
"It is linear. I mean like checking every nook and cranny of a level," the insider also stated, explaining that he or she haven't played the game but talked to those in the know. The game allegedly has a strong narrative, according to the insider.
The game was originally set to come out late last year, but the developers delayed its release because they needed more time to work on the game and there were still several issues with the preview code, according to Attack of the Fanboy.
Hopefully the added time helped Ready at Dawn iron out all the kinks and glitches and meet fans' and critics' expectations for the game. "The Order: 1886" is out Feb. 20, 2015.
