Excited for the next LG flagship device? Then we've got something for you!
We know that many of you stay tuned to get a glimpse of the rumored LG G4 during the Consumer Electronics Show. Unforturnately, the device did not show up during the event. Instead, a 5.5-inch full HD curvy LG G Flex 2 popped out. However, that does not mean that the alleged LG G4 would not make it this year.
These speculations continue to grow stronger as a new leaked spec sheet was spotted at Geekbench. According to the data it provided, a new LG device with model number LG-F510L is already on the way. The list shows that the new device, expected to be the LG G4, will have the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC clocked at 1.55 GHz, which Christian Today says is lower than the expected 1.96 GHz speed. It noted that it is the same speed that the Snapdragon 805 chip has.
Phone Arena says that with the Snapdragon 810 on it, this means that the new device will have the "Cortex-A57 and Cortex-A53 CPUs which feature the big.LITTLE architecture" and the Adreno 430 GPU for its graphics. It also noted that the new Snapdragon 810 is obviously better and more powerful than the 805.
Also, the new device will be having the new Android update, Android 5.0.1 Lollipop as its OS, as revealed by the spec sheet. Christian Today says this could still change if Google releases a newer version of the OS.
The spec sheet did not provided other details about the new device. But an LG executive has teased on the new device. LG Corporate Communications Director Ken Hong was spotted during the CES 2015 and was interviewed by Trusted Reviews wherein he said that the electronics giant will try to incorporate changes in its next generation of smartphones.
"I think we will [experiment with our high-end phones]. I think we have to...If you look at the specs only, there are other competitors with similar-spec phones. How do you stand out in that pile if you're not doing something different?" Hong was quoted in the report as saying. "I don't think we are going to be able to sit back and expect people are just going to fawn over the G4, or whatever the name will be, just because they liked the G3...I don't think it works that way any more. I don't think people are as loyal on the Android side as they are on the iOS side, so you really have to win every customer with your products," he added.
Several other rumors about the new LG flagship device have circulated online. There's the one that says it will have be a 5.7 inches phone with HD display resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels that will boast of its 16-megapixel rear-facing shooter and a 5.1-megapixel front camera. Then there's another that says it will probably be a 5.3 incher phone with a stylus pen, 4 GB of RAM, and 20.7 megapixel camera. To date, it is not clear what the new device would look like and what specs it will have as LG has not yet issued an official statement about it.
