As the rest of the world gets to eagerly snatch up the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, U.S. consumers are left waiting for a possible six weeks more before the phablet begins rolling out across carriers. But the handset is on it's way, make no doubt, as website EnGadget is reporting that the AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile models have shown up at the FCC.
Models SGH-i317, SGH-T889 and the SCH-i605 will be the three respective Galaxy Note 2s. Carrier U.S. Cellular has already started taking pre-orders online only starting at $299.99. There is no mention of Sprint's Galaxy Note 2.
After unveiling the Galaxy Note 2 back on August 29, Samsung took a while to give U.S. consumers information about pricing, carriers, and a release date. Recently, however, the South-Korean company stated that the Galaxy Note 2 would launch through the same five carriers that helped release the Galaxy S3 smartphone earlier this year. For Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular consumers this was great news since the original Galaxy Note was basically an AT&T exclusive for most of its life.
Carrier AT&T released a statement in which the Galaxy Note 2 was detailed as an upcoming phone. But carriers Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile have not released any official statements or details on the Galaxy Note 2.
Samsung will be holding an official U.S. launch event on October 24.
The Galaxy Note 2 looks poised to be the most powerful handset to hit the United States. With a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 4G LTE, and quad-core 1.6GHz quad-core processor that will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, it can compare to some PCs.
It will also come with the well-liked S Pen stylus that will allow users to multitask, preview, and of course, use the Galaxy Note 2 as a digital notepad.
Many thought the original Galaxy Note, with its huge 5.3-inch screen, would flop. But the handset went on to sell more than 10 million units, and the sequel looks to have a huge demand for it.
The Galaxy Note 2 is launching in Asian, European, and Middle Eastern markets at the moment.
