Till present, we have only heard about the BlackBerry London smartphone, but a recently-leaked screenshot shows that Research In Motion (RIM) has something more to offer.
According to Rapid Berry, a UK-based website dedicated to reports and leaks of BlackBerry, the Canadian smartphone maker is currently working on a smartphone, BlackBerry 10 Laguna, which will run on Verizon.
The website has released a detailed list of specs of the upcoming BlackBerry 10 Laguna. As per the report, the new L-Series touch-only phone will feature a 4.2-inch screen with a very regular resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels and an impressive 355ppi pixel density. The screen will have a 24-bit color balance using 15:9 display ratio.
Inside, the rumored Laguna will feature a Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 Plus processor with MSM8960 chipset and a dual-core Krait clocked at 1.5GHz. The phone will sport Adreno 225 GPU, the report claims. As far as the phone's memory is concerned, the company will pack in a usual 1 GB RAM and 16GB internal memory that can be expanded via complementary microSD card. BlackBerry will also offer an impressive 1800mAh removable battery and an eight megapixel primary camera with 1080p video-capturing capacity, the report reveals.
According to the leaked report, the phone will not only feature all the regular connectivity features, but will also be equipped with 4G LTE, Near Field Communication (NFC) and Wi-Fi Direct.
While BlackBerry has never accepted the existence of the device, it is hoped that the company will tide over its ongoing financial crises with the release of the new line of BB 10 smartphones, including BB London and BB 10 Laguna. The company is expected to launch its new BB10 line in Q1 next year.
