The 2012 mobile market has been dominated by Apple and Samsung. The most high-profile devices can be linked back to them, and there's no denying that the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Apple iPhone 5 are proving that the $220 billion market, according to Bloomberg, is only just opening up. But there are still solid alternatives there that may cater more to your specific needs, such as HTC's upcoming One X+ handset.
The smartphone hasn't even been formally announced by HTC, but website GSMArena revealed a leaked page from a brochure from U.K. wireless carrier O2.
The page shows off the HTC One X+ and its specs. If the source is kosher, then we're looking at a phone that is packing some serious firepower.
The HTC One X+ should come with an incredible 1.7GHz quad-core processor that will run the latest Android operating system, Jelly Bean, right out of the box. It will also feature an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 64GB of storage. For audiophiles, the HTC One X+ will feature Beats Audio.
The HTC One X+ is supposed to be a souped-up version of the HTC One X, and looks similar, so the display size should still remain at 4.7-inches.
As far as pricing goes, the page says that those wishing to pay monthly will have to wait for more information. But if you go with O2's 'Pay & Go' option, you will be able to nab the device for £479.99. That roughly translates to $775.
Sadly, there is no real solid news on the HTC One X+ in the United States. Leaked reports have suggested that T-Mobile was testing the device out, but nothing has come out after. But for those of you in the United Kingdom, this should be great news. Not only do you have the iPhone 5, the Galaxy Note 2 (hitting the U.K. next week), but also what is looking like another great option - the HTC One X+.
