Is the rumored LG G4 going to be the next Samsung Galaxy Note 4?

Recent rumors are suggesting that LG will try to take down Samsung, particularly its recently released Galaxy Note 4, by creating a new flagship device that also uses a pen. According to GSM Dome, a source from Asia has speculated that the new LG G4 will have a phablet format and a stylus pen. The source was IT Home.

GSM Dome said that it is unclear if the new LG device will be called G4 since IT Home mentioned other device names. However, it noted that the alleged new LG device with stylus pen might be a new LG G Pro. There is also a possibility it will be called LG G Stylus.

To note, several other phone brands such as Nvidia and ASUS have tried creating devices with stylus pens but have not leveled to those that Samsung released. So it is not unlikely that LG would also try to compete with Samsung considering that it has already released a stylus-oriented handset before like the G3 Stylus. But it looks like that LG is really taking this seriously as it has even filed a trademark application for the "G Pen," which many have alleged could be a stylus, Android Headlines reported. "This will probably be LG's way to compete with the Note series, considering the G3 Stylus is nowhere near the Note series nor does it bring anything that significant to the table. Does this mean LG will also release a new phablet to go with this accessory in the near future? Well, quite probably, though who knows when will that happen," Android Headlines said. The report added that LG has also filed a trademark application for "G Scrawl." It said this might be some sort of software which can be used with the G Pen.

According to GSM Dome, the documents provided by IT Home describes the new LG device with stylus pen as a 5.3 incher phone that has a Quad HD resolution and a Snapdragon 810 64 bit processor. It added that the device will have 32 or 64 GB of storage, aside from the 4 GB of RAM. It will also have a 20.7 megapixel camera and a 3500 mAh battery.

Christian Today, on the other hand, says a different thing. It said that the new LG G4 will likely be measuring 5.7 inches. It is likely to sport HD display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. It added that the device is also seen to have an aluminum-clad body to rival with Samsung's A series. It added that the device's camera will probably be a 16-megapixel rear-facing shooter and a 5.1-megapixel front camera.

iKnow Today also reports a different thing. It claims that the new LG device will either have a 5.5-inch or a 5.9-inch display. The Rem meanwhile says that that the new device might get any of these as processors: Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, Qualcomm Snapdragon 802, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, or Qualcomm Snapdragon 808.

Christian Today predicts that the new device might come out on summer next year.
