It looks like that US users of LG's current flagship device G3 have to wait just a little bit longer to get the new Lollipop update.

Gotta Be Mobile said that the newest Android Lollipop update will soon hit LG G3 users in the US, noting that the update has now reached other countries aside from Poland. It said that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update might arrive "sometime later this month."

In early November, LG announced that its G3 smartphones in Poland will be the first ones to get the new operating system.

"LG is absolutely committed to giving our customers the best mobile experiences available and bringing Android Lollipop to G3 owners as soon as possible is a top priority...The new features and improvements in Android 5.0 will bring a whole new user experience to the G3 and make it even better than it already is," LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company President and CEO Dr. Jong-seok Park was quoted as saying in the statement.

Gotta Be Mobile said that it was earlier promised by LG that the Lollipop update will arrive in its G3 users before the year ends. The report however noted that the rolling out was quite slow, with only selected small regions getting it.

South Korean LG G3 users got the update last month shortly after Poland, the report noted.

A report from Ubergizmo said that more and more LG users around the world have also now enjoyed the new Lollipop update. It said that the Lollipop update has also just rolled out to other European countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Portugal. It noted that several other European countries have also received the update but it no longer listed them in the report.

Ubergizmo also said that the update will also soon hit other countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, and Taiwan.

As for the North America, it said that "there is still considerable wait involved." The delay, it noted, might be due to the update test carriers have to do before releasing it. It also said that the delay is "inevitable."

Meanwhile, GSM Arena reported on Thursday that the update has finally rolled out to LG G3 users in India. "The new firmware is available for download only through the LG Mobile Support Tool and weighs about 1100MB, but the over-the-air option should pop up within a week," it said.

Those who got the new update, it said, are LG G3 users in Belgium, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, and UK.

A separate Gotta Be Mobile report said that most, if not all, of the areas which received the Lollipop update have smaller markets than the US. It however noted that it is still good news that more and more users are getting a taste of the Android Lollipop. And as far as the "before the end of the year" deadline for US is concern, it shows that LG is still on track as the year has not yet ended.
