The trailer for "Final Fantasy XV" is finally out in English.
Game Spot reported that game publisher Square Enix initially introduced the trailer in Japanese during the Tokyo Game Show in September 2014. On December 15, a re-released version in English was showcased for the western market. The game demo will be packaged with "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD" in March 2015. The game demo is playable but will be available limitedly. Gamers who pre-order "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD" 'Day One' edition are the only ones who can also get the game demo. The game is expected to be playable on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Tetsuya Nomura, an expert of the "Final Fantasy" franchise, announced that he has withdrawn from directing "Final Fantasy XV" to focus on his role as director of "Kingdom Hearts III."
Scott Strichart, Square Enix product marketing manager, said in the same Game Spot report, "We're never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line. Secondly, it's intended to be a special gift for those of you who purchase early - the demo will be limited to the 'Day One' edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it."
The Verge featured a video of the trailer, lasting two minutes and 38 seconds long. The starting scene featured four characters riding on a black convertible through a long stretch of land with a giant creature surfacing and looking right at them. The quartet of men seems to be traveling towards someone. One character said, "We've come a long way from home."
The following scened featured them exploring a grassy area, still in their convertible, surrounded by giant creatures that look like a cross between an elephant and a buffalo. Fight scenes using swords against armored soldiers were also depicted in the trailer. Next, they drive by a glistening blue monolith which one character referred to as an "Astroshard". The group continued to travel and fight in caves and other foreign places. It appeared like they will be riding the convertible for most of the game.
Later on, a blonde woman in a white dress was shown, with one of the characters saying in the background, "You don't want to keep her waiting too long." Another character responded, "Says she's holding on to something for me."
Nerdist reported that the graphics look better than before and the gameplay features a fascinating combination of real-time and turn-based combat.
