If rumors are to be believed, MacBook Air Retina is to become the most impressive laptop line of Apple, which the company also seeks to use in promoting its computer line better, reports the Australian edition of the International Business Times.
Apparently, the American tech giant is looking at its upcoming MacBook Air Retina to deliver a 'killer' Mac line, a game-changer, upon its scheduled release next year, cites the report.
Apple has yet to disclose an official release date for its latest laptop line.
The MacBook Air Retina was among the products that consumers were anticipating to be launched during Apple's iPad event in October. They were dismayed that it did not materialize, reports Techradar.
IB Times attributes the delayed launch to Intel's production problems because the chips that enable the new laptop line to exude low thermal design power or TDP were not readily available.
TDP shall enable the device to give off high-definition display without draining its battery life, adds the report.
Apple devices that feature the Retina display include the iMac 5K, the iPad Air 2, the iPad mini 3, and the MacBook Pro, notes Techradar.
What makes the upcoming MacBook Air Retina, rumored to come with a 12-inch display, impressive is its lighter and thinner build as well as new trackpad design minus the mechanical element, points out the IB Times.
"The MacBook Air set the standard for notebook designs when it slipped out of an envelop into Steve Jobs' palm in 2008. Its aluminium unibody design went on to inspire a wide range of Ultrabooks in the years (that follow). While its stylish minimal approach has undoubtedly played a big part in the MacBook Air's success, (the device) has grown more than a little stale," states Techradar, hinting of the foremost reason why MacBook Air Retina should be coming out very soon.
The site also thinks that the MacBook Air Retina shall come out with a very roomy 1680 x 1080-pixel or 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution.
Techradar is also hoping that Apple shall use a more innovative charging technology for its new laptop line such as the wireless or inductive charging technique, which the company is now using for its smartphones and wearables.
Dell's Latitude Z has tried using inductive charging previously but was not too successful with it. Should Apple makes it work for MacBook Air Retina, then it would most likely blaze another trail for others to follow suit, the report said.
The IB Times pointed out that the upcoming MacBook Air Retina shall come in three different colors - gold, space grey and aluminium grey.
