"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will feature the return of Nathan Drake, voiced by Nolan North, together with another surprise star, which showed that Nate has an older brother.
During the PlayStation Experience 2014 in Las Vegas, producers of the upcoming game featured a long trailer lasting almost 16 minutes of gameplay footage. Compared to the previous short teaser, which only revealed Drake's older self, the new scenes showed the older Drake in action and in-engine, based on a report by Geek.com.
The much-older Drake appears quite different after the game transferred from the PlayStation 3 to PS4. Fans of prior Uncharted games will appreciate how Nathan has not changed much in terms of personality. The graphics are a lot better than its predecessor and the contextual combat has been enhanced. As indicated in the demo, there will be several meaningful adjustments to the core gameplay due to improved AI, a more complex level design and a broader tool selection.
At the end of the video, a new surprise was in store for Uncharted gamers. In an article by Polygon.com, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will still have Nolan North as the voice actor of Nathan Drake. Troy Baker, on the other hand, will be the voice actor behind Nathan's still unnamed brother.
Troy Baker revealed the big news through his Twitter account by posting, "'Good to see you're alive, little brother.' Yes, that was me. Damn proud."
Eurogamer.net writes that Todd Stashwick, who also worked in Naughty Dog in the first teaser of "Uncharted 4," was originally slated to be the voice of Nate's brother. However, Stashwick, together with Amy Hennig, another Naughty Dog employee, had to abandon the project to work on Visceral Games, developer of "Dead Space." The two are reportedly working on a developing Star Wars project.
Both North and Baker are popular video game voice actors. Thus, the recent surprise has increased the hype and anticipation with the release of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" which is scheduled to be out sometime in 2015.
Other roles North is also well-known for lending his voice are Desmond Miles in the "Assassin's Creed" franchise, Captain Martin Walker in "Spec Ops: The Line," Penguin in the "Batman: Arkham" series, David in "The Last Of Us," and himself in "Saint's Row 4." Baker made a reputation for taking on the role of Joel in "The Last Of Us," Booker DeWitt in "BioShock Inifinite," Pagan Min in "Far Cry 4" and Talion in "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor."
