More rumors and reports are making their rounds claiming that Apple is preparing for a massive launch in September next year.
Focus Taiwan News Channel on Tuesday reported that the product to be highlighted in the alleged massive launch is the new iPhone 6S.
And while on the topic or releasing the new iPhone, Daily Mail said that the company is reportedly set to launch two new iPhones -- iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 -- next year although it has just released its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus this year.
However, contrary to Focus Taiwan News Channel's report saying that the massive September 2015 launch will fetaure the iPhone 6S, Daily Mail noted that the iPhone 6S will likely be released in spring while the iPhone 7 will be out in September.
Although Focus Taiwan News Channel's report focused on contract manufacturer Pegatron Corp., it hinted some details about the new device.
It revealed that it will measure 4.7 inches.
Focus Taiwan News Channel also noted that Pegatron Corp. may likely assemble most of the new iPhone 6S. Pegatron also assembled previous iPhone models iPhone 4S, iPhone 5C, and even the recently released iPhone 6. Meanwhile, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., which is also known as Foxconn Technology Group, was the main supplier of Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, it added.
The first one to report about these two new phones was Stabley Times. It was also the first one to give a time frame about their release. It suggested that the release of the iPhone 6S will likely coincide with the release of its Apple Watch.
"Apple is hesitant about launching the iWatch in the spring of 2015 without a new iPhone to go along with it, as it could give hesitant consumers an excuse to wait on buying both until the fall. As such, Apple is looking at giving the iPhone 6S a release date in the spring with the Watch, and then launching the iPhone 7 in Sept 2015 accordingly," Stabley Times' report said citing an unnamed source.
To note, Apple has been known to only release one handset per year. This routine however ended last year after it released the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C, Daily Mail said. This was again followed when it unveiled the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus this year.
Stabley Times' source also revealed that Apple is planning to shift to a six month release timetable to compete with Samsung's more frequent release of phones. The move, it noted, is also expected to boost the company's iPhone sales. The unnamed source also said that the plan to revise the time table shows that the company is now ready to break patterns and try something new.
