Developer Ubisoft is confident that the multi-platform roll out of "The Crew," the open world online racing game, on December 2 would be hassle-free, reports Gamespot.
A day before the official release of the video game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PC, Ubisoft unveiled the launch trailer of "The Crew," giving gamers and fans a glimpse of what it feels driving across the US in fast and beautiful cars, added the report.
PC Gamer notes that the launch trailer of "The Crew" could also be the last for the developer for 2014.
"It's been a big year for Ubisoft trailers, with no corners of the internet safe from footage of assassins assassinating and elephants being weaponized," cites the report.
Gamespot says that a number of big-name video games have troublesome or issue-plagued releases this year including "Halo: The Master Chief Collection," "Driveclub," and even Ubisoft's "Assassin's Creed Unity." But Ubisoft is quite confident that "The Crew" won't have any similar issues.
Giving Ubisoft the confidence on the hassle-free roll out of "The Crew" is the extended beta testing that it gave the game. But the developer says it will still be ready should any unforeseen issues crop up during the game's release, Gamespot points out.
Serkan Hasan, lead designer of "The Crew," says in PC Gamer that the open-world racing game would not face the same problems as it's stablemate with Ubisoft "Assassin's Creed Unity."
"The launch of any online game these days has potential issues. But (we) hope that players will be encouraged by our open approach. If you had any doubts that we could pull this off, I hope that the betas proved our credentials and the game's stability," states Hasan.
Despite this, many gamers are still pessimistic on Ubisoft's promise of hassle-free roll out for its latest video game release. One fan commented on the PC Gamer article by saying: "I get the feeling 2014 is a year Ubisoft would like to forget as soon as possible. (Horrible) launches, oversaturation with trailer causing dislike, statements that only (add) more fuel (to) the fire. I'm pretty sure this is one of their worst years yet!"
Another gamer also shared the same opinion with the first one, stating: "Seriously, this year's releases were train wrecks. If this is the company's last gameplay trailer for the year, no tear would be shed for sure. Ubisoft needs to think about some serious restructuring within their development team processes and management."
