True to its title, Nintendo's "Super Smash Bros" on Wii U, released on Nov. 21 in North America, has been a smashing success that the Japanese gaming company is now seriously looking at a historic financial rebound which it suffered two to three years ago.

As proof of how successful "Super Smash Bros" on the retail market, stocks of the video game appears to have run out, prompting a host of problems for its scheduled launch in the UK market on Nov. 28, reports Metro.

The video game was supposed to be released in Europe next week but Nintendo decided to advance it on Nov. 28. The company, however, will be sticking to its Japan release on Dec. 5.

With the problems "Super Smash Bros" is facing following its UK release, it seems that the move might not have been a good idea, notes the report.

Metro said that a good number of UK gamers were not able to get copies of their pre-ordered "Super Smash Bros" because online retailers were not able to complete their orders.

Most of the disappointed video gamers pre-ordered their copies of the game via Amazon.co.uk and ShopTo.

"The problem is widespread but seemingly inconsistent, and although the UK appears to be the worst hit, supply is also reportedly patchy across Europe, especially outside France and Germany," points out Metro.

One gamer even shared his experience of not receiving the gamecube adaptor and controller from Amazon.co.uk with his post on NeoGAF forum.

Apparently, he received an e-mail from Amazon.co.uk that read: "Due to a late supply of stock, your order for "Nintendo GameCube Controller Super Smash Bros Edition (Nintendo Wii U) from your order #00000 will be delayed. You should receive this item by Tuesday, 2 December 2014."

"As a token of good will, we'd like to offer you a £3 Gift Certificate to spend on any video game product sold and dispatched by Amazon.co.uk. This code is valid until 23:59 on 31 March 2015," the e-mail concluded.

The same short supply problem is experienced by ShopTo and the online retail store is pointing at an unfortunate delay in Nintendo Europe as the cause, cites Metro.

With its success, "Super Smash Bros" came as a long-awaited downpour for Nintendo which has been reeling from domination of Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One.

"It's been six years since the last Smash Bros game was released but 3DS owners will be able to take the latest edition (starting Black Friday), with the Wii U version expected shortly," states Eurogamer.
