LG G4 Release Date, Specs & Price: Ready to Become Android Market's Latest Pride

LG is set to release a new flagship device which boasts of its super thin bezel next year.

According to Master Herald, the new phone called LG G4 is going to be out in the market in mid-2015.

However, LG has announced in a statement that the new device has already been mass produced and released in China this month.

Like its predecessor, LG G3, the new LG G4 will definitely showcase a device with super thin bezel. Techradar said that the LG G4 will have a less than a millimeter bezel on each side. Its bezel on each side measures 0.7 millimeter. The LG G3 has 1.15 millimeter bezel on each side. It's pretty amazing, right? It's a "phone with absolutely no bezel at all," Techradar says.

LG said in the statement that to achieve such thin bezel, they are using Neo Edge technology. It said that this type of technology uses an adhesive tape instead of double-sided tape in attaching and sealing the circuit board and the backlight unit of the panel.

LG Display's IT/Mobile Development Group Head and Vice President Byeong-koo Kim said in the statement that the reason behind these thin bezels is that there is an increasing trend for phones with narrow bezels.

"With the growing trend for large screen smartphones, customer demand for displays with a narrow bezel is increasing, because it enables users to enjoy the maximum use of screen area without compromising excellent grip and design," he said in the statement.

"With this innovative product having many advantages, ranging from its narrow 0.7mm bezel and high resolution picture quality to its slim design and touch-embedded solutions, LG Display will continue to lead the growing market for large screen smartphones, meeting the expectations of customers and users by enhancing the quality of devices," he added.

Aside from the Neo Edge technology, LG also said that it is using "Advanced In-Cell Touch (AIT)" technology to keep the narrow bezel. LG said that the new phone will be a 5.3 inch full HD device.

As for the processor, Design & Trend said that it will have a Nunclun processor, an octa-core processor that is capable of LTE-A Category 6 and is packed with four 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A7 cores. This new processor is personally developed by LG.

But Master Herald said citing some "LG employees" that the device might get a Snapdragon 810 processor.

As for the camera, it is expected that it would be upgraded to a 20.7 megapixel that has an updated optical image stabilization technology, Design & Trend said. LG G3 has a 13-megapixel camera.

Master Herald said that the device is also likely to get the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update as its operating system.

LGG4updates said that it expects the new phone to be available in 32 GB and 64 GB variants with 3 GB RAM. It said that the phone may likely be priced at $900.
