The enhanced version of role-playing video game "Dark Souls II: Scholars of the First Sin" is coming very soon to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Developer From Software successfully released the video game on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the PC on March 11. The company plans to build on the success of the game by setting the stage for the release of its 'definitive edition' next year on the next generation gaming consoles, reports Metro.
Game publisher Bandai Namco hinted that "Dark Souls II: Scholars of the First Sin" will be sold on Xbox One, PS4 and the PC as a 'Game of the Year' style retail release, points out the report.
Metro said the latest news about the video game came at a time when Kadokawa Games, the new owner of From Software, held a recent event in Japan where the company announced two new titles that are in the works.
Kadokawa's two new titles include a dungeon role-playing game known as "Project Code: Daten" and the simulation role-playing game which they call as "Project Code: Tsukiyomi." Both games were in their PlayStation formats, details the report.
"Dark Souls II: Scholars of the First Sin" will be released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on April 7, 2015 in the US and North America, but four days earlier in Europe, added the report.
The Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game shall come with better graphics and new downloadable contents including an expanded story, in-game events, non-player character as well as deadlier enemies, and gameplay improvements, cites Polygon.
Metro said that additional changes to "Dark Souls II: Scholars of the First Sin" include the increase in the number of multiplayer head count to six, better item descriptions, unpredictable enemies, and balancing tweaks.
From Software is also happy to announce that fans of the game which already have the game on their Xbox 360, PS3 or PC will also enjoy the improvements once the 1.1.0 version of the game is released, the report added.
The PC version shall take full advantage of the DirectX 9 for Windows when the free patch is released which shall effect the changes but support the existing save files on the desktop, cites Polygon.
The game will also be re-released on Xbox 360 and PS3. It will make use of the DirectX 11 for Windows on the latest PCs, notes the report.
