It looks like Samsung Galaxy Note 2 fans in the United States have plenty to be cheery about. Not only is there a good chance that the handset will be available through all four major U.S. carriers this fall, it might be coming out soon after it hits international markets.

According to a report by BGR, a trusted source confirmed to the website that AT&T plans on launching the Galaxy Note 2 on October 21 - exactly one month after the hyped iPhone 5 becomes available in stores. The report was not confirmed by at AT&T spokesperson.

Samsung stated that Asian, European, and Middle Eastern markets can expect to see the Galaxy Note 2 in October. Pre-order ship dates through European websites show that a mid-October date is the most likely.

There is no word on Galaxy Note 2 pricing in the United States with a two-year contract, but a look at European pre-order prices show that it could be around $650-$850 unlocked and with no contract.

Samsung revealed the Galaxy Note 2 at an Samsung Mobile Unpacked event on August 29 in Berlin as the IFA consumer electronics show kicked off. It has still not released any official details on an exact U.S. release date, U.S. pricing, or U.S. carriers.

Some sleuthing, however, seems to have turned up evidence that the Galaxy Note 2 will be offered by all the major national U.S. carriers AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. This is good news for T-Mobile users, who don't get the iPhone 5.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 is a powerful device, listed as having a 1.6GHz quad-core processor running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It's rear-facing camera will be 8 megapixels, while its front-facing one will be 1.9-megapixels. It will also feature a giant 5.55-inch screen to take advantage of the S Pen stylus and give users and experience somewhere between a smartphone and a tablet.
